About

Our mission and vision for Tranquility Manor is as big as our love for these marvelous birds! We will continue to update with video and pictures of the progress of  both our birds and the facility build.

Mission & Future Vision

Our mission is to one day  provide a safe haven for all birds, whether exotic, local wild fowl or raptors. For now Tranquility Manor will care for injured, neglected, and unwanted exotic birds.

This will involve both temporary and long term care for the birds. In order to achieve this we will have hurricane safe housing with habitat aviaries. The aviaries will be equipped will all things fun for foraging, climbing, chewing and shredding. Aviaries and safe houses for exotics will be separated by continent for the overall health of the birds.  Future vision is to have Additional Aviaries and safe houses   for wild fowl, including raptors. There will also need be a quarantine facility for all rescued birds to remain in until fully vetted and released from 90 day quarantine.

In addition to this we endeavor to have a propagation center for endangered birds, both exotic and local wild birds to prevent extinction.

Wildlife rehabilitation centers in the area will be contacted to assist with wild local birds to ensure they are able to be released back into the wild.

Our local certified avian veterinarian is Dr. Kim Breeze with Breeze Animal Hospital. She has and will continue to be a wealth of information in creating the best possible care and living environment for the birds.

One of the missions our sanctuary is very passionate about is education. A major component would be an education center to educate bird owners and the community in nutritional, psychological, physical and environmental needs of birds. A well educated owner, in all things bird, will help ensure that both the bird and the owner have a wonderful relationship.

Some individuals have specifically requested that their parrot remain permanently with Tranquility Manor Sanctuary. Others have endured  psychological trauma and would not be suitable for rehoming. All sanctuary birds receive the same high level of care as the birds available for adoption. Depending on a birds needs, foster care may be an option until adoption ready. Sanctuary birds will be housed in continent species-specific safe houses and have access to habitat aviaries, with abundant enrichment  for their psychological and physiological needs.

The Ultimate Dream

  • To have a full propagation center for local   endangered birds and exotics.

  • To have a full time Education center for the   community to visit, take classes, and bring their   birds for training.

  • To have an on staff trainer to help owners learn to   train their birds.

  • To have flight aviaries available for members to   rent for their birds to get weekly exercise for   those who don’t have the space to have their own   personal flight aviaries.

  • To have educational materials available for purchase for new bird owners to take home.  (All proceeds from those materials will help support the Sanctuary.)
